Celebrating the life and legacy of our founder, Onkarnath ManaktalaAt the tender age of 18, our founder, Onkarnath Manaktala, started a business with his uncle, only to have everything he had built brutally taken away in the wake of India's independence movement. He lost everything save the clothing on his back in the partition that tore families apart and ruined livelihoods.He relocated to Bombay to pursue his livelihood and started over, producing equipment for a select group of his clients who were established here. He meticulously rebuilt Kumar Metal Industries and his life from the ashes of heartbreak and sorrow, maintaining his integrity throughout.He was a gentle, good-natured man who rarely spoke and was always the most composed individual in the room. He showed love and respect to everyone he came into contact with, and his affection was always returned a hundredfold.Even in difficult situations, he never gave up. He believed that integrity, hard effort, and dedication were the only ways to succeed. He never allowed his struggles to define him; rather, he saw them as inspiration to change the world. His children and grandkids have continued the legacy he started by establishing charities to provide livelihoods and educational opportunities to underserved populations. Throughout his adult life, he skillfully balanced his professional and charitable endeavors, supporting a variety of causes from rural women's skill development to education.His legacy for the Kumar family is the foundation of our future. We are dedicated to transforming what he began into a major worldwide force providing process engineering solutions and technologies to the oils and fats sector. In his name, we can only reach higher heights.Throughout his life, our founder, Onkarnath Manaktala, worked tirelessly to improve the world.
